Twice the Happiness
I am happy, very happy, and you can see that clearly in the photo from my wide smile, together with my darling twin girls and Thanos Paraschos, whom we paid a surprise visit quite some time after I gave birth at EmBIO.
Now that I hold my twin girls, the world feels perfectly right. But I remember well the time before emBIO, back when hope felt somewhat... theoretical. The journey towards motherhood had its shadows, until we met the specialist Thanos Paraschos.
What stood out to me immediately about Dr. Paraschos wasn't just his knowledge, but the way he conveyed it: with a calm assurance that managed to dispel our anxieties, without ever sugar-coating the situation. He spoke about probabilities, but mainly he spoke about a plan, about next steps. You felt that you weren't just a case file, but people with a story deserving his attention.
The course of tests and treatment naturally had its ups and downs. But the feeling that we had a captain who knew the waters made all the difference. Every question, every little moment of panic on our part, was met with seriousness, understanding, and optimism.
The day our girls were born wasn't just the end of a process. It was the culmination of a relationship of trust built step-by-step. Looking at them now, I feel a gratitude that goes beyond simple joy. It's the recognition that science, when combined with genuine humanity, like Dr. Paraschos's, can indeed light up even the most difficult paths.
