Twins on the First Insemination!
We started trying to get pregnant the year before last. After six months, I was getting anxious, so I wanted to have a fertility check-up. We found Dr. Paraschos online and went to see him. He ran some tests, didn't find anything wrong, and simply sent us on our way.
He told us to go home and that I would get pregnant. I really want to emphasize this because he didn't take advantage of us, which he easily could have done. He didn't know us, and we weren't referred by a mutual acquaintance. When we hit the one-year mark of trying, we were incredibly stressed because it felt like pregnancies were popping up all around us.
We went back, discussed everything, and he suggested we try an insemination, because neither my husband nor I could stand to wait any longer. We just didn't have the patience for it anymore.
We agreed, and the insemination was a complete success. I'm having twins from the very first attempt! The preparation involved a cycle of a few injections in my stomach.
The insemination procedure itself is like a simple Pap test—it's nothing. I came in, it was done in 5 minutes, I lay down for half an hour, and then I went home. No anesthesia, nothing at all. I even went to work the same day. A Pap test can be a little uncomfortable, but the insemination didn't hurt at all.
The staff at EMBIO was so wonderful and friendly. I look back on my pregnancy so fondly because I had such a great experience. As I was leaving, I even asked him when I could start trying for another baby! There was no hassle, no pain, and now I have a little boy and a little girl!
