How to schedule a consultation
When individuals or couples have fertility concerns, we recommend that both the male and female partner have full consultations to determine the most effective treatment approach. A common misconception among many is that infertility is primarily a woman's "problem". In fact, male factor infertility affects the same number of couples as female factor infertility. An additional 25% of couples who seek treatment have more than one factor or condition affecting their ability to reproduce.
To identify male infertility, the first step is to schedule an initial consultation so contact us at 0030-210-6774104, 0030-6973886675 or via e-mail email@example.com.
What to Expect at a Male Infertility Consultation
Once at your appointment, the doctor will conduct a standard interview and then begin the examination process, which includes:
A thorough history is taken along with a review of general health of the patient including medications, duration of the infertility problem, sexual habits, previous pregnancies & evaluations/treatments, as well as history of conditions such as varicoceles, undescended testes and infections.
The physical examination will focus on the penis and scrotal contents, testicular size and consistency, presence or absence of the vas deferens and swelling/tenderness of the epididymides. The physician will examine for the presence of enlarged veins around the testicles (varicoceles).
Routine Laboratory Testing
Laboratory testing may be ordered including a semen analysis and determination of serum hormone levels including FSH, LH, testosterone and prolactin. Abnormalities may be a sign of a primary hormone problem in the hypothalamus, pituitary, or testis. Genetic lab tests may also be ordered. Ultrasound may also be used to examine the scrotal contents or to indentify an obstruction.
